Seawater desalination is regarded as one of the most effective and sustainable solutions for securing potable water. This process not only contributes to alleviating water crises but also offers a long-term solution, providing new water resources for cities and provinces alike.
The seawater desalination project, designed to supply potable water to the Chabahar Free Zone, was commissioned by Avijeh Palayesh Company in 2014 with a capacity of 5,000 m3/d, and has since been developed in three phases.
In this project, to minimize energy consumption, the pressure of the effluent from the reverse osmosis system is transformed into mechanical energy by the recovery turbine. This process results in the rotation of the turbine shaft, which is then transmitted to the high-pressure pumps.
